Yazan Fuqaha Interaction designer

The best design is the one nobody mentions.

Nobody thanks a light switch.

You pressed a hundred buttons today. You don't remember one.

You remember the door you pulled when it said push.

I design the ones you forget.

How people actually use things

People notice, scan, guess, hesitate, tap, wait, give up and come back.

How do you follow a salt limit you cannot see?

Six things I believe.

Try them. There is nothing to get wrong.

  1. A button should be pressed, not read.

The shape does the work. The label is for later.

    Press the one you'd press.

  2. People don't read. They guess.

So the right guess has to be the easy one.

  3. Nobody is being stupid.

When people get it wrong, the thing taught them wrong.

Type your phone number the way you'd say it, then submit.

  4. Waiting is fine. Not knowing isn't.

Slow and visible beats quick and quiet.

    Send both. Which felt faster?

    Goes quiet
    Shows it's working

  5. Feel comes before function.

Weight, texture and timing decide trust first.

    Flip both.

    Instant
    A beat late

  6. The best result is silence.

No complaints, no praise. People just get on with their day.

    Press it.

No label. No icon. No instructions.

Something people keep getting wrong?
